Course aim – The course is developed in accordance with IMO Model course 1.27 as well as standards of competence laid out in Section A-II/1,2 of the STCW 78, as amended in 2010, IMO Res. A.817 (19) and the national standard for this training, in force from 01 January 2013
At the end of the course, the seafarer will:
*be able to operate ECDIS equipment, use navigational functions of ECDIS, select and assess all relevant information and take proper actions.
*acquire and develop a knowledge and understanding of the basic principles governing the safe operation of ECDIS, system related limitations and potential dangers
*be able to assess errors, inaccuracies and ambiguilties caused by improper data management
*be aware of errors in dispayed data, errors of interpretation and the risk of over-reliance on ECDIS
Entry standards – The course is open for all navigating officers
After successful course completion Maritime Administrations issues the respectuve certificate.
Final assessment un this course is videorecorded as per requirements of Bulgarian Maritime Administration.
This course can be carried out in English of customer request.
