In its 30 years history BMTC constantly takes into account the novelties in the maritime theory and sea-going experience. In 1989 BMTC was made known to IMO as a national center accomplishing the postgraduate qualifications and training all kinds of specialists of sea transport - seamen, officers and marine specialists in accordance with the international STCW 78/95 convention with its relevant amendments.

Carries out all International Maritime Organizations model courses.Continuously increases its training capacity improving its qualification and training activities to provide and educational environment, simulates intellectual curiosity, fosters professional competency, encourages self-development.Offers courses to suit the specific needs of any customer and has a specialized library, software, language teaching systems and equipment. BMTC is equipped with up-to-date training simulators, training facilities, lecture halls and laboratories.The trainees are given nationally and internationally recognized certificates.
